Probabilistic Thermal/Structural Analysis
N&R has performed many probabilistic thermal/structural
analyses on a variety of aerospace components
including Space Shuttle Main Engine turbopump
blades and jet engine combustor liners, rotor
blades, and rotor discs. We have also determined
the probabilistic property distributions of newly
developed composites based on the uncertainties
in the constituent properties. The N&R staff has
a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental
structural analysis techniques as well as extensive
experience in the application of commercial analysis
codes such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, PATRAN, MARC, ABAQUS,
and ADINA and NASA specialty codes such as NESSUS
and NESTEM.
